Wrens Roman Trip
Wrens enjoyed an exciting trip to the Hands on Heritage site in Tunstall Forest. We were immersed in life as it would have been during Roman Britain. We weaved bracelets, made pewter necklaces, whittled a butter knife and even got to choose between using a Celtic or Roman toilet! The highlight of the day though was when we became archaeologists. We uncovered the remains of a Roman villa complete with mosaic floors, a bathroom and kitchen area. We found the remains of animals, clay pottery and a broach.
