Admissions
The County Council is responsible for admissions on entry to the school at Reception and full details of the County Council’s admissions policy and procedures are set out in the latest 'Schools in Suffolk' booklet. Children can be admitted to school, full time, at the beginning of the school year in which they become five years old. Children can begin school part-time until the term in which they turn five years old.
We invite all children who gain a place at Dennington to join Chaffinch Class for a variety of activities in the Summer Term before they are due to begin school. These induction sessions will include lunches and whole days.
Pupils remain at the school until after their eleventh birthday. At the start of the next academic year (September) they commonly transfer to Thomas Mills High School or Stadbroke High School depending on their catchment area and parental choice.
If your child(ren) is joining us mid-year or in year group that is not Reception, please contact the school directly if you are considering applying for a place.
Please find a copy of the admissions policy below.
